Suhot Cold Springs

One good thing about being a wedding photographer (like me) is that I have the chance to visit various places for free. We had our recent engagement session shoot at Capiz and our client booked us in Suhot Cold Springs.

Pride of Dumalag, Capiz. This place is very famous among locals and tourist nearby. People go here during summer and enjoy the natural clean cold water of spring.

This is the main house, they have air-conditioned room on the second floor. I think the rate is 1200 per night good for 2 person.

One of the attraction of Suhot Cold Spring is the cave.

When in Capiz particularyly in Dumalag, Suhot Cold Spring resort is a must to visit. We’ve spent 2 nights here and I can say that it’s safe and the ambiance is very relaxing. What I think that the resort needs to improve is to have a decent restaurant. They don’t offer food by menu but you can ask them to cook for you.

How to go there:

If from Iloilo, you need to take a bus going to Roxas and ask the driver to drop you in Suhot Resort. From the main road, it’s a 5-10 min walk.

I have more pictures on my hardisk and I’ll try to post it here if I have the time.

My grade: Recommended

If you find this helpful, thanks

Aliwan Festival 2013

April 13 2013 – a much anticipated festival for many. Since 2007, I make sure to attend this festival as much as I could. What made this popular? Well.. various contingents all over the Philippines come to Manila and perform their native dances. Winners will be awarded with a prizes but I guess the “prestige and pride” is what matters to the contestants.

For those who’d like to join the festivities in the upcoming year, I suggest to go as early as 10 am to have a closer interaction with the contingents and to have a better photo opportunities with them.

Here’s my rendition of “Faces of Aliwan”

Panagbenga Festival 2013

First of all, I’d like to apologize for the late post. I’ve been so busy lately… 🙂

Anyway, It was my first time going to Panagbenga Festival. I’ve heard of this before and was invited many times but it’s only Vince (my officemate) who made me say “Yes, I’ll be shooting at Panagbenga”. Coz aside from a free accommodation, Vince graduated at SLU Baguio, which happens to be a Hall of Famer at said festival.

We left Manila at around 11:00 pm and arrived at Baguio at 4:00 am (Street Parade day). It could have been earlier if we didn’t go to Vince’s place at Sison, Pangasinan.

At 5:00 am, we are already in Session Road, it’s the main street for the said festival. I was surprise how many people are there guarding their place. So if you plan to go to Panagbenga, prepare early. Eat breakfast! Very important.

Here’s some of my shots…

The best day to visit Panagbenga Festival is the Street and Float Parade. In our case, we missed to witness the Float showcase due to circumstances that we need to go back to Manila.

I enjoyed the event. I would go back given a chance.
