I’ve been planning an Ilocos tour years ago. So when I got the chance few weeks ago, I never thought twice. I packed my bags and headed to the north… more often than not, when I travel, the first thing I will search on the Internet are the places to stay and where to eat. I’m very familiar with most common resorts in Pagudpud, but during my travel, I thought of staying to less known places, at least on my personal knowledge.
And then, there’s the “Pannzian Beach and Mountain Resort”. While doing research, I found out their beach do not have the typical fine white sand of Pagudpud, nor even swimming pool. But was amazed with good reviews and feedback. So the latter made me curious.
From Laoag City, it took me 3-4 hours driving. It’s already 5:30pm when we reached the resort. Fortunately, the owner was still there when we arrived. She gave us a bit history of how the resort started, how they manage it, their themes, food, and other information that made me love the place.
The lobby is the main restaurant.
My first impression was, I love the place! I love the ambiance! And supposedly, we planned for just an overnight stay. But seeing just the restaurant made me booked another night without seeing 90% of the place.
The initial food they served that dinner made my night complete. I was surprised how good they cook their food. I seem to enjoy everything I saw and I can say, the impression was love at first sight.
The Rooms – are clean and well maintained. I slept well and the bed itself was very comfortable. The owner let me took pictures of their other rooms.
Some are good for couples, some for families or for large group of people.
I personally love the duplex area.
Every room is situated to have this “privacy” feel.
A glimpse of vicinity of the resort.
Attractions – one of the attractions of the resort is they have 3 rivers within the property. I was surprised how big the resort is in terms of land area. I woke up early morning and explored the beach/river area.
It’s rare you find a resort where there’s a river that meets the sea.
More shots of the beach coast.
The owner mentioned a “secret rock” formation on the left side of the resort. I was so curious that I can’t sleep that night. I’m not sure if I’m the first person who spent “time” on this place, have a picture of it, and blog it.
We enjoyed our stay at Pannzian Beach and Mountain Resort. Truly a Gem of the North. The owner and manager themselves are travelers and promotes/supports local tourism. A very rare for business owners nowadays. I like the food! food! and food! Seaweeds omelet, beef tapa, and lemon grass tea are my personal favorites. They don’t have tv’s nor swimming pools, owners wants you to feel a little bit out of the curve or out of the usual feel of modern life. Something I really look for when I travel, just the nature and me, food, relaxation mode, great ambiance, cool breeze of the ocean, and peace. The crew are very polite and friendly as well.
I’ve been to places as you can see here in my blog. This resort is definitely now on my top 3 destination in terms of good vacation. Thank you Pannzian for making my last tour memorable. I’ll be back soon.
