If you haven’t been to El Nido before and now looking for accommodations, let me help you plan your stay. The most common you will find on the internet are the ones located in the main town. To name a few, Periking Beach Guesthouse, Marina Garden Resort, Entalula Beach Guesthouse, etc… beach front here is nice and you can swim. But if you want privacy and quiet ambience, go to Caalan area. It’s my favorite place in El Nido. However, please be guided that it’s 5-10 minute walk from the main street and the beach front is not possible for swimming. There you will find Hadefe and Taiyo to name a few. On these places I’ve mentioned, sorry to say that there’s no perfect view of the sunset if you’re after it.
There are various nice resorts in Corong-Corong. This time, we tried Stunning Vistas Beach Resort. My first impression was, the crew and staff were nice, friendly, and accommodating. Of course, the first thing we did is to check their room.
What I like about the place is the view, view, view. No wonder why they named their resort with it.
I appreciate the wooden platform they built near the shore. It’s nice to have a coffee or snacks there while enjoying the view.
The beach is ok. But what I don’t like about it is the sea grass that seem to create trash on the shore. It’s like the one you will find in the beach of Bolinao, Pangasinan.
But if you walk farther, you will experience Palawan’s trademark which is fine white sand.
I have nothing else to do that day. It was our last day in El Nido and as you can see, the weather seems not to cooperate. I didn’t have the chance to capture it’s beautiful sunset. Yes! you read it right. There’s a sunset view in Corong-Corong.
The room that we rented cost 2,500 pesos. It may not sound cheap but I think it’s still affordable. The room have wi-fi, mini refrigerator, satellite tv, air-condition unit, hot & cold shower and 24 hour electricity which is not the case in the whole El Nido area (12 hours electricity the most). Do you think it’s fair enough? I think so. The owner “Gary” is a foreigner but very fluent in speaking Filipino language. He’s a very nice dude.
Before I forgot, one thing that caught my attention on trying this place is because they boast that they serve good food. Infact, they are the ones who cater food to “SURVIVOR” tv series crews years ago. We’ve tried some of food on their menu and I can say that it tastes really good. Not to mention, it’s very affordable for the quality.
Should I recommend the place? Yes.. at least a day. For photographers like me, this is the place for sunset shoot.
